Write - Compose - Inspire

We invite you to  write, compose, and inspire this year by executing one or a combination of options detailed below.

Rules

+Writing/Composing Types--Choose your Style/Topics/Modes/Tools/Surfaces
+Awards--Participate at your award level of choice.
+What Counts--Writing at school/work/community/church counts, as do personal freelance writing and compositions.
What will you write in the ordinary course of life this year?
+Diversify--Choose one or more writing/composition types to meet your goal.
For example: write an article, craft a story, compose a poem, draw a design, invent joke, etc.

Registration Information
+Text your intent to participate to Helen.
+Indicate your goal level, if desired but not required.
+Receive information, on how to access and use our Google Doc to track your progress.
+Optional, receive periodic messages/reminders/nudges. Please indicate interest.
5 Award Levels
+$10 and/or Certificate: Chisel--1 hour (1 hour for the entire year)
+$20 and/or Certificate: Quill--4 hours (average 1 hr per quarter)
+$50 and/or Certificate: Pen--12 hours (average 1 hour per month)
+$70 and/or Certificate: Stylus--24 hours (average 2 hours per month)
+$100 and/or Certificate: Keyboard--52 hours (average 1 hour per week)
Cash Award/Certificate Eligibility
+Ages for Cash Award and Certificate: As of July 2023, Grands and Greats 18 years and younger
+Ages for Certificate: As of July 2023, 19+ years
+Awards and Certificates: Award based on the highest level of participation. For example, if you complete at least 12 hours,
you'll receive $50 and/or Stylus Certificate, depending on your age.
+Tracking: Upload/report your hours as you go on Google Docs (coming)
+Celebrate: Award levels posted on our webpage as achieved.
Tips
+Cramming not recommended, but life happens. Some writers thrive under pressure.
+Save, print, photograph, record, file, post, share, capture, and archive your drafts, process, finals.
+Share samples, photos, excerpts, drafts, and descriptions, of your writing and artwork with Helen
to post on our Museum and Library pages.
